SILVER AWARD FOR LANDMARC IN THE DEFENCE EMPLOYER RECOGNITION SCHEME

Landmarc’s support and commitment to Defence has been rewarded with a Silver Award, recognising our flexibility towards employing and supporting reservists and our pledge to theĀ Armed Forces Corporate Covenant. The award was presented at an inaugural Wales Employer Recognition Awards Ceremony at Cardiff City Stadium on 30th January.

The event was the formal launch of the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme in Wales, organised by 160th Infantry Brigade and Headquarters Wales and SaBRE. Chris Palser, Range Manager at Sennybridge accepted the award on behalf of Landmarc from Public Services Minister Leighton Andrews.

The Employer Recognition Scheme was a commitment made in the July 2013 White Paper entitled “Reserves in the Future Force 2020: Valuable and Valued.” It followed an earlier Green Paper consultation process which took into account the views of a wide range of companies and industry bodies who championed the value in publicly recognising employers supportive to Defence across a range of areas.

The Scheme uses a tiered approach for awards. At the Bronze level employers are able to state their intent to support Defence, the regional Silver level recognises employers who actively demonstrate support and at the highest national level the Gold awards recognise those who have become advocates.

Lee Martin, Director for Landmarc commented:

“Working on the military training estate, we recognise the value and significant benefits serving personnel, reservists, veterans and military families bring to our business.

“Receiving this award is an honour and reinforces our continued commitment to supporting servicemen and women and their families.”
