LANDMARC HIGHLY COMMENDED AT UK IT INDUSTRY AWARDS

Landmarc Support Services (Landmarc) has been Highly Commended for its project to implement e-working in the Workplace Transformation of the Year category at the BCS & Computing UK IT Industry Awards 2015.

The Awards are a platform for the entire profession to celebrate best practice, innovation and excellence and this year featured 25 categories covering project, organisation, technology and individual excellence. The categories were open to organisations and individuals involved in IT across the public, not for profit and commercial sectors.

The Landmarc IT team received the commendation at a ceremony in London for the effective delivery of a project to move to e-working using internet-connected tablets for managing and updating maintenance activities – a solution which was designed, built and delivered by a small IT project team in just two months. The Service will deliver significant savings and enable a more efficient remote maintenance service that can operate within a secure military environment.

Landmarc was also a finalist in the IT Project Team of the Year category, recognising the company’s internal IT team, contractors and partners who all worked together on an IT Change Programme of 42 projects to deliver 34 brand new or improved IT Services in just 18 months. This included a new Data Centre and has resulted in the complete transformation of Landmarc’s IT landscape and an innovative service oriented architecture.

Ceri Lambdin, head of IT at Landmarc, who was also shortlisted for IT Manager of the Year, commented, “It is a great achievement for Landmarc to be recognised for excellence in IT by a UK wide industry body, as it shows how dedicated we are to improve the service and value we offer to our stakeholders.”

Paul Fletcher, group CEO of BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, said: “Congratulations to all the winners and those who were highly commended in our UK IT Industry 2015 Awards. BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, is here to make IT good for society. The Awards are a major part of this, demonstrating how excellence is being achieved across the IT profession. This year the calibre of applications we received was outstanding, but the winners stood out as exceptional and inspiring, and they should be very proud of their success.”
