LANDMARC ENCOURAGES EMPLOYEES TO ‘BE THE DIFFERENCE’

To mark Business in the Community’s (BITC) Give and Gain Day – the only global day of employee volunteering – Landmarc is proud to launch its new employee-volunteering scheme, ‘Be the difference.’

Be the difference

Now in its seventh year, Give and Gain Day is an opportunity for BITC, businesses, community organisations and schools to celebrate what business volunteers can achieve, and will see thousands of people from hundreds of companies volunteering on Friday, 20th May.

‘Be the difference’ is a brand new initiative from Landmarc that supports employees to formally volunteer some of their time to a charity or community project during regular working hours.

The scheme allows two days additional leave per year to each volunteer to donate their time to help others, and aims to encourage employees to record and share their experiences and support Landmarc’s commitment in delivering social value across the business.

Steve Utley, Managing Director at Landmarc, said: “The perception of Landmarc as a responsible business is shaped by a variety of factors from our use of local suppliers and the employment opportunities we provide, to the support of tenants and community projects, and the stewardship of the natural capital of the training estate.”

“Be The Difference has been developed following valuable feedback gathered through our Employee Engagement Forums, and will now form part of our approach to maintaining a culture of ‘shared value’ across all operations. It will demonstrate how we can implement and manage opportunities for employee volunteering and measure our impact on our local communities. We’re very excited to launch the scheme and share our volunteering stories.”
