Landmarc joins DIO and the British Army at Longleat's Military Spectacular

The Military Spectacular was hosted by Longleat on September 30th & October 1st to celebrate the Armed Forces and showcase the amazing talents they have to the general public. Our team from Wyke Regis was there flying the flag for Landmarc whilst helping the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and the British Army demonstrate a range of equipment, much to the crowd’s delight.

A range of military equipment

The event, that featured tanks, helicopters and military vehicles alongside live demonstrations, parachute displays and a marching band aimed to strengthen the relationship and raise awareness of the British Army within the local community, of which Landmarc is very much a part of and committed to supporting.

“We took a range of vehicles, including the Rigid Ranger Mk3 boat that is capable of travelling 215 nautical miles (247 miles) in all sea conditions up to and including sea state 5, which means a wave height of 2.5-4m high and the Terex Demage AC35 Crane, which has a total lifting capacity of 32 tonnes”, Jason Spicer, Landmarc’s South West Area Delivery Manager, explained.

“We had an excellent reception from the general public over the weekend, the children in particular were amazed, and it was a really great experience for them and very satisfying for us to see them so engaged with the British Army. A lot more people are now more aware of who Landmarc is and what we do in their local area. A thoroughly enjoyable few days for all involved, thanks to the team from Wyke Regis for all of the effort you put into this excellent event.”

The weekend also featured a bomb disposal robot courtesy of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD). However, the highlight was the REME Parachute Display Team landing in the park as part of a special Sunset Ceremony with musical accompaniment from The Royal Artillery Band.
