A review of the combat training required for current active deployments by UK forces highlighted that the extant operational shooting policy did not meet the needs of contemporary operational environments. Part of the new policy involved physical changes to the furniture on ranges that provided training in the transition from marksmanship training to field firing. The ranges involved were Multiple Moving Target Trainer Ranges (MMTTR) and Individual Battle Shooting Ranges (IBSR).

Our work alongside the UK Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) on project Odysseus produced an approved national standard design using both standard and new materials. This work, which was completed on time and in-budget, has drastically improved the up-to-date reality of facilities, better preparing soldiers for what they may face in the field.
