LANDMARC RENEWS MEMBERSHIP WITH THE FOREST INDUSTRY SAFETY ACCORD (FISA)

We are pleased to announce that we have renewed our membership with the Forest Industry Safety Accord (FISA), confirming our continued commitment to working with organisations in the private and public sectors to raise the standards of health, safety and welfare in the industry.

Managing more than 190,000 hectares of land for the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), with 21 million trees and 20,0000 hectares of woodland, means that Landmarc is involved in many aspects of forestry and woodland management including conservation projects, maintaining tree health, establishing new woodland and sustainable harvesting and restocking.

As a result, we have always been committed to ensuring the most stringent welfare standards are adhered to, to keep our employees and the communities in which we operate safe.

Judith Peachey, Landmarc’s Forestry Harvesting and Marketing and Arboricultural Advisor, said, “Continuing our membership with FISA not only reinforces the importance we place on health and safety, but also helps us to contribute to and benefit from the most recent industry initiatives to help reduce the risk of accidents to our own staff, sub-contractors and the wider public using the Estate.

“This is especially timely when so many of the woodlands and roadside trees that we manage are infected with ash dieback. The ability to work alongside our industry partners to share best practice and the latest health and safety information ensures that we can deliver works to the highest standard but also in the safest way possible.”
