LANDMARC ANNOUNCED AS FINALIST FOR 2019 RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS AWARDS

Landmarc Support Services (Landmarc) has been named as a finalist for Business in the Community’s Responsible Business Awards in the Age Friendly Team category.

The annual ceremony is the UK’s longest and most prestigious awards’ programme which champions responsible business in the UK and abroad; celebrating organisations that are helping to build more inclusive workplaces, stronger communities and tackle environmental challenges.

With the UK workforce changing along with an aging population, the Age Friendly Team category highlights the productive, innovative and inclusive benefits that multi-generational teams can offer organisations.

Landmarc’s Sustainability Strategy, which is aligned to the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals, supported by a People Strategy and Investors In People, places people at the heart of ensuring a sustainable business, so its diverse workforce makes the business a perfect candidate for this award: 63 per cent are aged 50 or older, and during the last year, over a quarter of all Landmarc’s new starters were aged 55 or older. The youngest employee is just 18 and the oldest, 74.

Steve Utley, Managing Director at Landmarc comments, “Landmarc takes great pride in stimulating a culture where employees of all ages are able to teach, share and learn from one another, creating an environment that is rich with experience and maturity.  We are thrilled to be selected as finalists for the Age Friendly Team Award and to represent the values that the Responsible Business Awards stand for.”

Amanda Mackenzie, chief executive of Business in the Community, said: “Organisations which acknowledge their responsibility to society by evolving their business to be a sustainable one for the long term should be recognised and celebrated. We are proud of Landmarc, who have been selected as a Responsible Business Awards 2019 finalist. Together, all the finalists are helping to make the UK the world leader in responsible business.”

Today’s announcement coincides with the launch of Responsible Business in Action where Business in the Community will be sharing the very best insight and recognising great examples of impact in responsible business from 29 April to the Responsible Business Gala Dinner on 9 July.

The winners of all ten categories, including the Responsible Business of the Year will be announced at the Responsible Business Gala Dinner at the Royal Albert Hall on 9 July, in front of 1,200 business leaders.
