TRAINING AREAS & RANGES
Supporting our troops with effective military training
At Landmarc, we are proud that the facilities we design and operate are helping to equip our troops for frontline operations. We take our responsibilities very seriously knowing that the military training we support plays a key part in our national defence infrastructure
From ensuring target shooting ranges remain a safe place to train, to managing explosives and providing modern and comfortable living quarters for our Armed Forces at the end of a hard day – our team is on hand to deliver the right support, at the right time.
Our specialist staff have a unique understanding of military training and secure environments; in fact, more than 25 per cent of our workforce comprises ex-military veterans.
Working together, we ensure the service delivered is tailored to the precise requirements of our Armed Forces. This can include simulation facilities, including Small Arms Trainers, laser force on force, laser equipped fighting villages and instrumented fighting buildings alongside an accredited system for a safe system of training.
The impact of new and emerging technologies has also seen us invest in digital systems that offer step-by-step support. These include our Bookings & Allocations Management System (BAMS), our Asset Management System and the Range Manager System.
MANAGING MILITARY TRAINING AREAS
We provide purpose-designed and managed training facilities across more than 85 training areas to support our troops on the Defence Training Estate and in other sensitive or secure environments. This includes training needs analysis and training design, where required.
MANAGING TRAINING RANGES
Our world-class provision of range management, maintenance and development is delivered across the full variety of ranges for all weapons systems; ground, sea and air. This includes 52 range complexes with some 65 small arms fixed template gallery ranges and over 300 other ranges and field firing areas comprising joint fire ranges for air, ship and ground launched munitions, four Air Weapons Ranges and 24 Marine Range Danger Areas.
Working in partnership with our Armed Forces, we keep the training range safe, both for those that are training on the area and for the general public. Our Safe System of Training (SST) and ‘safe place’ operations on behalf of the UK MOD sees us enforcing range orders, control operations, manning patrols and ensuring barriers and warning flags are prominent.
