LANDMARC WINS FOURTH MAJOR AWARD OF THE YEAR FOR SUSTAINABILITY EXCELLENCE

Landmarc’s Soft FM team is celebrating another outstanding achievement after being awarded a 2025 International Green Apple Award for Environmental Best Practice, their fourth major accolade this year. This latest recognition follows their success in securing an IWFM Impact Award for Positive Climate Action, a Metsa Award for Positive Climate Impact and an internal Directors’ Commendation Award for Sustainability Impact, marking an exceptional year of environmental leadership and operational innovation.

ABOUT THE GREEN APPLE AWARDS

The Green Apple Awards are run by The Green Organisation, an independent, international, non-profit group dedicated to recognising and promoting environmental best practice. Established in 1994, the awards honour organisations that demonstrate exceptional commitment to sustainability, resource efficiency and environmental improvement. Winning a Green Apple Award is widely regarded as a mark of environmental leadership and innovation. It was collected by Jamie Hutch, Head of Soft FM, Steve Judd, Sustainability Manager and Charlie Murphy, Sustainability & Energy Advisor, during a ceremony at the House of Lords on 17 November.

DRIVING ENVIRONMENTAL IMPROVEMENTS ACROSS THE ESTATE

The Soft FM team’s success is routed in practical, measurable changes that have transformed daily operations:

Eliminating unnecessary plastic waste

A new pod-based cleaning system has prevented 8.1 tonnes of plastic from reaching landfill and cut transport requirements for 21 tonnes of liquids every year.

Cutting water usage through innovation

Deploying water-efficient technologies such as iMop and Dryft scrubbers has saved more than 500,000 litres of water across the estate.

Switching to sustainable consumables

The introduction of sugarcane-based toilet rolls, eco-friendly urinal treatments and WEPA hand towels has improved hygiene while significantly reducing waste.

Building sustainability into daily practice

By visiting 40+ sites to deliver hands-on coaching and support, the team has helped embed sustainable behaviours into everyday operations.

Streamlining the supply chain

Consolidating over 1,000 product lines with a UK SME partner has reduced transport emissions and enhanced social value. Through charitable partnerships such as MadeBlue and Ripple Africa, this move has also supported access to clean water initiatives and helped plant more than 3,000 trees.

Jamie Hutch, Head of Soft FM said, “Winning a Green Apple Award reinforces our belief that innovative, environmentally responsible solutions are essential to the future of FM. The team has worked tirelessly with regional delivery teams to deliver meaningful improvements across the estate and I am delighted to see their dedication recognised, once again.”

A YEAR OF EXCEPTIONAL ACHIEVEMENT

This collection of awards recognises more that just environmental projects, it reflects a culture of leadership, collaboration and continuous improvement.

The Soft FM team’s work proves that environmental impact, operational performance and social responsibility can work hand in hand. Their achievements are shaping a more sustainable future for Landmarc and setting a benchmark for excellence across the facilities management sector.

Congratulations to the team on their remarkable year of success!
