A charity golf day organised by local firm Landmarc Support Services (Landmarc) has raised a massive £7,056 for two local charities, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the North East Autism Society.
The event, which was jointly organised by Planning Manager, Chris Poulter and Team Leader, Ivan Rookes, teed off at Richmond Golf Club, with 13 teams entered comprising contractors, sponsors, Landmarc staff and employees from Landmarc’s customer, the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO).
Chris Poulter commented: “The aim of the event was to raise as much money as possible for these two local charities, as well as bringing together members of our supply chain and staff from across the country. The charities were chosen due to the essential support they provide to the area, and we were delighted to have been able to raise much-needed funds for them.
“The day wouldn’t have been able to go ahead without the help we received from members of the team including Claire Burdon, Ceri Wright and Diane Cloughton, as well as the fantastic support from our supply chain, sponsors and attendees. I’d like to thank everyone for making the day such a great success.”
The money was raised through sponsorships and contributions by local and national businesses, entry fees and a raffle. Donations were also taken at the halfway house of the 10th tee where refreshments and unlimited cupcakes were on offer.
Sophie Clarke, Event Fundraiser for the North East Autism Society commented: “We are over the moon and so grateful for the £3,528 Landmarc has raised through the golf day. The money will help to continue the work of our vital Family Support Services across the north East.”
Helen Callear, Regional Fundraising Manager for The Yorkshire Air Ambulance, added: “I would like to thank the team at Landmarc for all the hard work which went into organising the golf day. We are both surprised and delighted with the amount raised and there is no doubt that this money will go towards saving lives. You should all be proud of your achievement.”
Chris Poulter concludes: “Special thanks go to all of our sponsors, which include our main sponsor, Briggs Equipment, plus Geoffrey Robinson Ltd, M W Waste, City Electrical Factors (Richmond branch), Heron Contracting, PLR, Savills, Tusker Direct, PVM Supplies, GPT Waste, Griffiths and Armour, Jardine Mercedes, Toyota UK and Alphabet BMW. Their generous contributions and support are greatly appreciated. Here’s to the next one!”
