LANDMARC CALLS FOR NOMINATIONS FOR THE 2026 EMPLOYEE CHAMPION AWARD

Landmarc Support Services (Landmarc) is calling for nominations for the Employee Champion award at the 2026 Armed Forces Community Awards at Soldiering-On, recognising individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to supporting the Armed Forces community in civilian employment. Nominees need not have served themselves; the award is open to anyone championing veterans, reservists, military spouses and their families in the workplace.

The awards support the UK Government’s Veteran Strategy (2025-2028), which focuses on three themes: celebrate, contribute and support. The Employee Champion Award reflects all three by celebrating individual achievement, recognising transferable skills, and actively supporting the professional development of those who champion the community.

2024 Employee Champion Award winner and Barclays UK Armed Forces Banking Project Manager, Andy White, commented:

“Winning this award strengthened my professional credibility by providing formal recognition and visibility for my work. It enabled me to develop new programmes to better support veterans transitioning from military to civilian life – including those wishing to start or grow a business too.

“Many people leave the Armed Forces without formal qualifications. This award helps bridge that gap, providing recognition and credibility that enables individuals to apply their skills across industries. It is imperative colleagues and mentors recognise veterans’ work and nominate them for these awards.”

2025 winner and Barclays Private Bank UK International Business Manager Nicky Howse, added:

“Winning the Employee Champion Award highlights the contributions veterans can make in civilian roles. It opens networking opportunities with like-minded individuals and key stakeholders, helping secure budgets to provide even greater support for veterans.

“Nominations are essential to raise awareness of the exceptional work veterans achieve and the opportunities available to those transitioning from military service.”

Landmarc Managing Director, Mark Neill, said:

“The Employee Champion Award recognises the individuals who go beyond their day-to-day roles to champion those who have served and their families, whether by opening doors, building pathways, or simply making the organisation a better place for the Armed Forces community.

“Landmarc is proud to sponsor this award because we understand first-hand the value that veterans, reservists and military families bring to the workplace. We encourage anyone who knows someone making that difference to put their name forward.”
