On the back of a recent IWFM award win, Landmarc has taken home the crown yet again. This time in the ‘Partners in Sustainability – Public Sector’ category at the 2022 Premises and Facilities Management (PFM) Partnership Awards.
Representatives from Landmarc, DIO, the Army and Reds10 collect the award for ‘Partners in Sustainability – Public Sector’ category at the 2022 Premises and Facilities Management (PFM) Partnership Awards.
This latest victory recognises Landmarc’s partnership with the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), the British Army and modular construction specialist Reds10 and the team’s commitment to sustainability on the Ministry of Defence (MOD)’s UK Defence Training Estate (DTE).
For nearly two decades Landmarc has been partnering with DIO to ensure the military training estate delivers a safe and sustainable place to train for the armed forces. Part of this commitment is the need to contribute positively to the environment, society and the economy.
These recent awards highlighted the Net-Zero Carbon Accommodation Programme (NetCAP). NetCAP is an army and government-funded programme that is transforming the lived experience for our Armed Forces, whilst contributing to the MOD’s carbon reduction goals.
It is delivering over 70 new carbon negative accommodation facilities and providing around 4,000 bed spaces in several locations across the UK. DIO wanted to boost environmental performance, not only in construction, but for the ongoing lifecycle of the buildings, which meant a variety of innovative green measures were implemented to ensure long-term operational efficiency.
Powered by air source heat pumps and rooftop solar panels, this new sustainable modular accommodation replaces old, inefficient buildings and uses SMART technology to monitor and adjust energy usage using data, driving down Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) ratings from 12 to -10.
The buildings now generate more energy than they use, reducing electricity and maintenance costs. Furthermore, the latest installations are double storey and have the capability for rainwater harvesting.

NetCAP is just one of many improvements taking place across the Defence Training Estate to ensure our troops have what they need in order to prepare them for operational deployments. This award is recognition of a lot of hard work by the joint team and is well deserved.”

The PFM Awards are one of the longest-running in the FM industry, championing outstanding work and effective partnerships through a dedicated independent judging panel. The ceremony was held on the 2nd of November at The Brewery in London, hosted by iconic newsreader and journalist Sir Trevor McDonald OBE.
