Forestry management
A large percentage of the Defence Training Estate comprises forests and woodland, home to some 22 million trees! Our Armed Forces rely on these for effective military training that resembles as many real-life worldwide environments as possible.
With the increased threats of climate change, pests and diseases, it’s now more important than ever to maintain and protect UK woodland, where different species can thrive.
Our specialist teams undertake all aspects of woodland and tree management, from establishing new woodlands right through to sustainable harvesting and restocking. This also helps to improve the health and quality of the MOD’s timber resources, which then becomes a vital source for income generation and reinvestment.
