WARCOP AND HALTON TEAM WIN TEAM OF THE YEAR

Landmarc’s Warcop and Halton team in the North has won the prestigious Team of the Year award at Interserve’s annual divisional Employee Recognition Awards, in recognition of their support for the winter flood crisis in 2015. Winners were announced at a ceremony at the iconic Claridges hotel in London on Tuesday 13th September that celebrated the achievements and successes of people employed across companies within the Support Services division of the Interserve group.

The team was nominated for proactively joining together to deploy exceptional levels of support following the severe flooding experienced in the north of England last winter. Their efforts and quick thinking enabled Landmarc and the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) to keep the training camps safe and operational and expedited a base for the military so that they could provide the vital assistance needed to support our local communities. This included the clean-up operation of Halton Training Camp, which suffered significant flood damage, and mobilising Warcop Camp on Christmas Eve to provide a base for soldiers to assist civilians in nearby flooded Appleby.

Landmarc staff from other sites in the area also worked with military teams to support the Cumbrian Disaster Flood Appeal by organising drop-off points for donations and offering labour and ring fencing beds, wardrobes, bedding, furniture and other supplies due for disposal so that they could be donated to the Appeal.

Steve Johnson, Regional Operations Manager for the North, praised the team, commenting, “I am so proud that my team has been recognised with this award. It is thoroughly well deserved for what was an outstanding display of partnership, commitment and hard work. I can’t commend them enough for the way they responded in the face of crisis, especially as many were also facing their own challenges at home because of the floods. Once again, thank you and well done to you all.”

Landmarc’s IT team were also finalists in the Ingenuity (Innovate) category for the development and implementation of our mobile eWorking Service, an innovation which has enabled Maintenance Technicians to receive maintenance work requests in the field and then electronically complete work orders in the Maintenance Management IT Service, without re-keying the information. This has resulted in a more efficient process, saving money and improving lifestyle and working practices.

Congratulations to all on this superb team performance.
