GIVE TO GAIN: CELEBRATING WOMEN MAKING AN IMPACT ACROSS LANDMARC

To mark this year’s International Women’s Day, which takes place on Sunday 8 March, we celebrate women from across the business whose actions bring this year’s theme, ‘Give to Gain’ to life.

Their stories show that ‘Give to Gain’ is not a campaign or title, it is a mindset shaping how people at all levels make an impact, support one another and strengthen our teams and communities. By investing time, energy, knowledge and encouragement, they demonstrate that giving is a source of shared growth and lasting benefit.

MAKING AN IMPACT THROUGH INFLUENCE

Jenna Adams-Snowdon, Area Delivery Manager, East

Jenna believes that impact comes from creating conditions where others can succeed. She focuses on listening, removing barriers and encouraging ownership, ensuring everyone feels valued and heard. Early in her career, she sometimes had to work harder to ensure her voice was noticed, which taught her the importance of authenticity and clear communication.

Give to gain in action: “By giving guidance, support and encouragement, I strengthen both individuals and the team, proving that everyday influence builds confidence and collective success.”

SUPPORTING WELLBEING AND RESILIENCE

Sheryl Ray, Team Manager, South East

Sheryl’s experience in mental health and living with PTSD has taught her that real resilience comes from self-awareness, empathy and honest conversations. She encourages her team to speak openly, create boundaries and lean into purpose, habits she practices herself through triathlon training and personal reflection. Sharing struggles, she says, doesn’t diminish us; it allows others to do the same.

Give to gain in action: “By giving openness, empathy and support, I foster trust, connection and a culture where people feel safe and empowered to show up fully.”

LEARNING AND GROWING THROUGH COLLABORATION

Heather Young, Site Manager, Wales & West

Heather values continuous growth and sharing knowledge. She has engaged colleagues across Wales and the wider Landmarc team to seek guidance, expand her network and challenge herself to step outside her comfort zone. At the same time, she encourages others to do the same, sharing lessons learned and developing confidence.

Give to gain in action: “By giving curiosity, support and collaboration, I gain shared learning, stronger networks and collective capability.”

MENTORING: SHARING TIME, GROWING CONFIDENCE

Vicky Burnett, NSC Call Agent, CSO

Vicky became a SSAFA mentor to support members of the Armed Forces community navigate life changes and challenges. Initially unsure if she could make a difference, she stepped out of her comfort zone. Over time, she has helped her mentees set goals, find balance and navigate challenges, while rediscovering her own confidence and purpose.

Give to gain in action: “By giving my time, empathy and encouragement, I’ve gained renewed purpose, personal growth and the satisfaction of transforming someone else’s journey as well as my own.”

STRENGTHENING TEAMS THROUGH SUPPORT

Ashleigh Reid, Team Manager, South West

Teamwork drives everything Ashleigh does. Through initiatives like Project Excellence, she brings regional and area teams together with workshops, training and shared tools to simplify complex processes. She prioritises active listening and clear communication to ensure every team member feels heard.

Give to gain in action: “By giving time, feedback and encouragement, I gain trust, cohesion and a resilient team culture.”

MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN THE COMMUNITY

Nicola Keen, Administration Supervisor, Scotland & Northern Ireland

Nicola dedicates her time to her community, volunteering with local projects, fundraising for Alzheimer’s Scotland and assisting at her church. Inspired by her mother’s experience with dementia, she has taken on challenges like zip-wiring across the Clyde and bucket collections and has organised giving days with colleagues to support East Haven Together.

Give to gain in action: “By giving time and energy to help others, I gain fulfilment, purpose and the knowledge that my contribution matters.”

EMPOWERING OTHERS THROUGH INTEGRITY AND SUPPORT

Sheryl Anderson, Team Manager, North

Sheryl empowers her colleagues by understanding their strengths, offering guidance and creating opportunities to develop skills. She listens to aspirations, provides training and shadowing opportunities and uses challenges as learning experiences. Her approach builds confidence and capability across the team.

Give to gain in action: “By giving trust, support and mentoring, I gain stronger performance, confident colleagues and the pride of seeing others succeed.”

MOVING FORWARD TOGETHER

These stories show that Give to Gain is for everyone, in every role, at every level. Impact comes from the choices we make every day to support, share and encourage others. Sometimes it’s a conversation, a moment of support, shared knowledge or simply being present when someone needs help.

When these everyday actions are repeated, they strengthen teams, support wellbeing and build communities.

How will you ‘Give to Gain’ today?
