FIRST LANDMARC 100 INNOVATOR ANNOUNCED AT WINTER HAY FESTIVAL

As the Hay Festival Winter Weekend 2013 comes to a close, Landmarc is pleased to announce Natural Access, a not-for-profit social enterprise, as its first Landmarc 100 recipient following the launch of the scheme at the Hay Festival this summer.

GOING GREEN AND SAVING MONEY IN INVERNESS

A bright idea from Eddie Jones, General Hand at Cameron Barracks, that was born following Enviropass training has resulted in the building of a compost enclosure that has saved the region approximately £1,500 a year in disposal costs and reduced the grass/leaf waste by approximately 25%.

LEADING THE WAY WITH NATURAL CAPITAL MAPPING PROJECT

Landmarc Support Services, has launched the Natural Capital Mapping Project (NCMP) in conjunction with the University of Exeter’s Environment and Sustainability Institute (ESI), Smiths Gore and SKM Enviros.

IMPROVING ACCESS TO SALISBURY PLAIN TRAINING AREA

Working closely with the Defence Infrastructure Organisation, DIO Ops Training and the Royal Engineers, Landmarc has completed a major £2.5m project to upgrade tracks and crossings on the eastern side of Salisbury Plain Training Area.

NEW SOLAR FARMS WILL SAVE ENERGY AND CUT BILLS

In support of the DIO Energy Spend to Save Programme, Landmarc has worked closely with DIO Ops Training to install five 50kWp photovoltaic arrays on four camps across its training estate. These are the first of their kind to be installed on the defence estate, which will generate electricity, cut bills and reduce DIO Ops Training’s carbon footprint by an estimated seven tonnes of CO2 per year.
