Two brand-new urban fighting skills facilities, designed to replicate the complexity and unpredictability of modern urban operations, have officially opened on the Defence Training Estate. Located at Rollestone Camp on Salisbury Plain and Whinny Hill on Catterick Training Area, the new Skills Houses will significantly improve the training experience for troops.

ROLLESTONE CAMP KITCHEN MOVES INTO FIT-OUT PHASE

Work is progressing well on a new £6.5 million kitchen and dining facility at Rollestone Camp on Salisbury Plain. Due for completion in late 2025, the fully electric, modern facility will accommodate up to 500 personnel across two sittings, a major upgrade to the camp’s infrastructure. NEW FOOTBRIDGE PUTS SAFETY FIRST AT KNOOK CAMP

Landmarc and the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) have opened a new footbridge between the North and South areas of Knook Camp on Salisbury Plain to create a safe pedestrian route across the B390 main arterial road, which connects Shrewton to the A36.

TRAINING SAFETY ACCESS CONTROL BUILDING OPENS AT CAERWENT

A £314k project to design and build a new access control building at Caerwent Training Area, near Chepstow in Wales and West, has been officially opened by Brigadier Bartholomew, Head of Overseas and Training Region at the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO).

NEW KITCHEN FACILITY ENHANCES TRAINING EXPERIENCE FOR ARMED FORCES

Landmarc Support Services working with The Defence Infrastructure Organisation and Highlands based contractor Compass Building and Construction Services, opened a new £2.3 million kitchen and dining facility at Cameron Barracks, a military training camp located on the eastern outskirts of Inverness in Scotland.

£1.2m has been invested in new buildings at Catterick Training Area to recreate the cluttered and congested environment of a city. The upgrade has created a more realistic environment for troops carrying out modern day military training in the area.
