TRAINING ESTATE SUPPORT CONTRACT
INFRASTRUCTURE AND SUPPORT SERVICES THAT ENABLE SAFE, SUSTAINABLE AND EFFECTIVE MILITARY TRAINING
The UK Defence Training Estate plays a crucial role in preparing the Armed Forces for operations across the globe. The new seven-year Training Estate Support Contract (TESC) is designed to transform the way the Defence Infrastructure Organisation DIO) and its industry partner, Landmarc Support Services, jointly manage training areas to provide a world class training experience for all UK Defence, third party organisations, Cadets and Foreign Forces.
Together, our role is to deliver infrastructure and support services that promote safe, sustainable and effective military training. The new contract has been developed to drive investment and innovation, resulting in services and facilities that will be more agile to meet the changing needs of the Armed Forces.
In a typical year, Landmarc and DIO:
- support over 9 million training days
- deliver over 6 million meals through our catering partner ESS
- support around 2 million accommodation nights
The Defence Training Estate covers some 1% of the UK’s land mass with:
- 120 training camps
- 472 range complexes
- 10,000 items of targetry
- 9,000 accommodation and training facilities
- 164 Sites of Special Scientific Interest
- 21 million trees

From training area and range support to the delivery of multi-million pound projects to enhance critical training assets, TESC provides all the services required to deliver a world class training experience.
HELPDESK
Landmarc’s 24 hour, seven days a week helpdesk provides a single point of contact for any user of the UK Defence Training Estate (DTE) to answer queries, provide support for BAMS, report maintenance or service requests.
INVESTING IN FACILITIES
DIO and Landmarc are delivering an ongoing programme of investment projects designed to enhance vital training and welfare assets. This includes improvements to accommodation facilities, infrastructure and critical training assets.
