enhancing critical training and welfare assets
Throughout TESC, Landmarc and DIO will be delivering an ongoing programme of investment projects designed to enhance vital training and welfare assets. This includes improvements to accommodation facilities, infrastructure and critical training resources.
The programme is being delivered as part of the Billable Works service, the bulk of which is planned and delivered as part of the Command Infrastructure Delivery Plan (CIDP). This is a plan that details what infrastructure work is needed across the Defence Training Estate to help the Armed Forces achieve their training objectives.
A typical year of Billable Works could see Landmarc deliver up to 1,500 tasks or projects. This is likely to cover a wide range of work in diverse geographical locations, such as:
- Managing woodlands as part of Forestry Harvesting and Reinvestment
- Delivering short term contracts to support fast-paced operational requirements
- Providing new modern ranges and facilities to support real time and synthetic training activities
- Delivering projects to improve the safety of troops and other estate users
- Improving security and providing modern facilities across the estate
- Delivering large scale, life cycle replacement or change construction projects
- Ensuring we meet our obligations to the many protected sites by delivering work under the Conservation Stewardship Fund.
Whilst delivering these in-year projects, we are always planning the next 1-3 years in detail and helping the customer develop the 10 year plan.
