DEVELOPING FUTURE TALENT: LANDMARC’S INDUSTRY PLACEMENTS DELIVER REAL IMPACT

Empowering students and graduates with skills, experience and recognised professional success.

Landmarc is continuing to invest in the next generation of talent through its industry placement scheme, which offers students and graduates meaningful, hands-on experience while supporting the long-term future of the business.

As part of its Social Value commitments, Landmarc has created a series of structured placement opportunities designed for sandwich-year students and recent graduates. Typically lasting between six and 12 months, these roles provide individuals with the chance to contribute to real projects, support day-to-day operations and build valuable professional skills in a live working environment.

The initiative goes beyond meeting contractual commitments. It forms part of a wider strategy to attract enthusiastic, forward-thinking individuals who can bring fresh perspectives and modern skills into the organisation. In turn, placements help build a strong pipeline of future talent, with many participants gaining the experience and confidence needed to pursue long-term careers within the sector.

This year, Landmarc has pledged to support up to six new student and graduate placement opportunities across the business, further strengthening its commitment to developing emerging professionals.

One standout success from the scheme is Charlie Murphy, an Energy and Sustainability Placement Student, who has achieved a distinction in his Institute of Sustainability and Environmental Professionals (ISEP) qualification.

Completed over four months alongside his placement, the course provided Charlie with a comprehensive understanding of sustainability principles, environmental management techniques and how these align with broader business operations. Achieving an impressive score of 82 per cent, his distinction reflects both his dedication and the value of combining academic learning with practical, real-world application.

Charlie has already begun applying this knowledge within his role, demonstrating how industry placements can accelerate development and create immediate impact. His achievement also highlights the importance of providing access to recognised professional qualifications; helping early-career professionals build confidence, credibility and technical expertise.

Reflecting on his experience, Charlie emphasised the benefits of early investment in people, noting that opportunities like this not only support individual growth but also strengthen organisations by building capability, resilience and future leadership potential.

Landmarc’s placement scheme continues to demonstrate how targeted investment in emerging talent can deliver lasting value; for individuals, for the business and for the wider industry.
