RAISING AWARENESS OF BEACH SAFETY AT DONNA NOOK

Around 80 children from three local primary schools visited the Air Weapons Range at Donna Nook recently for the annual School Beach Awareness Day. The event – which is organised by the Coastguard and supported by Landmarc Support Services, the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust – aims to inform children about basic beach safety skills.

Landmarc Support Services and the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) have hosted their annual ‘Swynnerton Roses’ and residents lunch, which gathers together the ladies who worked at Swynnerton Training Camp in World War II. The event aims to honour these ladies and remember those who lost their lives to protect our freedom.

47-MILE WALK RAISES £1200 FOR LIMBLESS VETERANS

Military veteran and amputee Kirk Bowett has raised over £1200 for Blesma, by undertaking a sponsored 47-mile walk from Hunstanton to Cromer in Norfolk, alongside friends, family and colleagues from local employer Landmarc Support Services (Landmarc).

LONGSTRIDE LIVES ON RAISING £600 FOR FORCES CHARITY COMBAT STRESS

Local campaigner Tim Shapland has raised over £600 for forces charity Combat Stress with Longstride Afloat, a week-long sponsored sailing challenge on the Solent. The Solent is the strait that separates the Isle of Wight from the mainland of England, measuring 20 miles in length and about one to four miles wide.

ELSTEAD COMMON BRIDLEWAY RESTORED

An old flooded bridleway and track on Elstead Common in Surrey has been restored to provide year-round access by the local community, whilst preserving the protected habitats of a diverse range of wildlife.

CONSERVING LULWORTH BEACHES

A team of seven Landmarc employees, took on the Jurassic task of organising and taking part in a beach clean combing two miles of the MoD’s Lulworth coastline, which is also used by the general public.
