LEADING FROM THE FRONT

Although the number of women working in what are considered male-dominated sectors is increasing, still in 2022 the percentage of women in higher management, director and board positions is in the minority. Kirsty Pearce, Corporate Services Director at Landmarc’s head office, has been a member of the team since 2002 when the business was announced as the preferred bidder for the Vanguard Contract. Twenty years later, Kirsty has worked her way up within the business into one of the top roles.

International Women’s Day is all about recognising women’s strengths and achievements. This year’s theme, #BreakTheBias, is pushing employers and colleagues alike to value and celebrate women’s achievements – from the momentous to the day-to-day – and show support along the way.Megan Stewart, Quantity Surveyor for Scotland and Northern Ireland has only been a member of the Landmarc team since September 2021, however, she has already noticed the effects of having an amazing support system around her at work.

The 8th of March marks International Women’s Day, but at Landmarc we’ve decided to make this annual event a week-long celebration, spotlighting just some of the amazing women we work alongside. First up is Mair Warrilow, who started with Landmarc over a decade ago as a Service Administrator and has since moved into her current role as Site Operative.
NETCAP DELIVERS ITS FIRST DOUBLE-STOREY CARBON NEGATIVE BUILDINGS

The award-winning Net-Zero Carbon Accommodation Programme (NetCAP) has reached another key milestone by delivering the UK Defence Training Estate (DTE)’s first double-storey carbon negative buildings with added rainwater harvesting capabilities.
GRENADE THROWING TO RETURN TO WOODBURY COMMON TRAINING AREA

The re-opening of the range, which forms part of the Woodbury Common Training Area in Devon, will support Royal Marine recruits during their basic training and will also reduce transport times, costs and the carbon footprint.
